Season of Presence

ACU ONLINE

ABOUT

Join ACU Online students, staff, and faculty as we engage this holiday season with intentional reflection and generosity. You are invited to participate in three unique opportunities that will help you attend to your personal well-being, spiritual formation, and generosity toward those in need.

OPPORTUNITIES

Winter Break Devotionals

Sign-up for a daily email during this winter break that draws your attention to God’s love for this world and desire to make all things right. In addition, engage in a “practice of presence” to encounter the world with greater attentiveness.

Spiritual Retreat

The holiday season brings no small amount of stress, chaos, busyness, and over-consumption. Watch as Dr. Ben Ries invites us to slow down, breathe, and give close attention to our spiritual formation and life with God.

Giving Back

Whether you give your time, money, or other resources, seek out ways to see your neighbor as God sees them…as beautiful, worthy, and beloved children of God. Please share with us the good work you are doing in the community.

Devotionals

___________________________

Sign-up for a daily email during this winter break that will include a scripture, poem, or prayer that draws your attention to God’s love for this world and desire to make all things right. In addition, each email will invite you into a daily “practice of presence” that will help you engage the world with greater attentiveness.

Each of these daily practices help us live more grounded and centered lives in the midst of the chaos of our world and this holiday season. May we each embrace the opportunities before us as we seek to embody gratitude, hospitality, joy, and hope.

Spiritual Retreat

The holiday season brings with it no small amount of stress, chaos, busyness, and overconsumption. Watch the short video below as Dr. Ben Ries invites us to slow down, breathe, and give close attention to our spiritual formation and life with God.

As we create space in our own lives for rest and reflection, we have the opportunity to respond with generosity towards those who do not currently have the luxury for such space. Find ways this holiday season to give back to those in your community who are struggling with hunger, poverty, injustice, or being disenfranchised. This may be a local food pantry, homeless shelter or ministry, or organization that addresses issues of poverty. Whether you give your time, money, or other resources, seek out ways to see your neighbor as God sees them…as beautiful, worthy, and beloved children of God.
